You expect ceilings to be a dull part of the home. It's what you saw around you as you grew up. Nobody was adventurous with their ceiling color - good old white or maybe even a daring cream (yes that was sarcasm) is what you came to expect in terms of the heights of ceiling décor. Your ceiling doesn't need to be boring however; as a matter of fact it can be a talking point of the room if you really want it to be. How? Simply by adding some wonderful color!
Another basement ceiling option is to install ceiling mirrors. Installing mirrors on the ceiling enhances the lighting that you have in your basement. You can use mirrored tiles in an ingenious way for your basement to appear larger than its actual size. This is an effective optical illusion for smaller basements. Make sure that your ceiling is not so low to avoid accidentally smashing up the mirrors.
Spending much time and money on your basement will surely depends on what you intend to do with it. You can spend a very small amount or you can spend a slight fortune. The best thing however is that, a large extent of the work you perform will augment your home's worth and appeal at any time you might come to a decision to sell it.
Now it's time to talk about that \"ceiling-scape\"! What is the \"ceiling-scape you ask? Well that's my new word for what's really UGLY overhead in the basement, the UGLY that's going to need to be hidden away from our view!
Another reason to buy that can of paint is the fact that a colored ceiling softens the sharp contrast offered by your walls. For most people, walking into a room with dark red walls topped with an intensely white ceiling can be almost shocking! It isn't comfortable and cozy at all. To solve this problem, opt for a ceiling color that blends better with your wall color. If you have walls done in shades of jade, why not select a ceiling in ivory or beige? It's a softer hue that complements rather than contrasts with your walls.
And then one day shopping with his family he saw what a store did with their ceiling and that was basically nothing. He asked the owner what they did and he said they basically cleaned the pipes and duct work, primered them and then used an airless sprayer to paint everything one color. It was perfect, we would not have to move any thing, no framing was necessary and to beat all it allowed for more head room.
Quote from ceiling tile painting ideas :
Remember to apply the primer on the tiles and you might also have to use several coats. Make sure that the tiles are totally dry before placing them back in position, or they'll be deformed when moist.
